Islam is a combination of Christianity and Judaism. It takes parts of both religions and skews them into promoting Muhammad as the prophet of Allah. Allah and Yahweh are not one in the same so whether Islam accepts evolution or not does not matter since the one true God is Yahweh.

Islam does not affirm such a standpoint. According to the Qur'an, Adam (pbuh) - the first man - was a direct creation of God, as a man. The Qur'an does not support that Adam evolved from another species.

However, it may be of some interest to note that in Al-Sajadah 32: 7 - 9, the Qur'an has referred to three different stages involved in the creation of man in such words that a slightly varied version of 'evolution' may be derived from it. The Qur'an says:

He, Who perfected everything that He created - He started the creation of man from clay then he inculcated in him [i.e. man] the potential to reproduce through a drop of humble fluid then He embellished and fashioned him in due proportion; and breathed into him of His spirit and [thereby] developed in you [the abilities of] listening, vision and feeling.

The Holy Qur'an advocated both. It tells of both creation of the universe and evolution in one single "ayah"

“Have not those who disbelieve known that the heaven and earth were joined together as one united piece, then we parted them? And we have made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?” (Qur’an 21:30).

The creation of the universe "big bang", please refer to Stephen Hawking's The brief history of time. The universe was in state of "singularity" before the BB.

And does't all living thing evolved from water? but Allah created Adam in heaven from earth after the six creation days.

Islam is just as diverse as Christianity. My girlfriend is Muslim and she believes in evolution. She's from Indonesia and Islam practiced in Indonesia is quite different from Islam practiced in the Middle East. Oddly enough, my girlfriend has traveled around the world through out Europe, Asia, and the Middle East on business trips and her least favorite people to deal with in general are Arabs.

Many Muslims are creationists though. The Kaaba (enormous black cube building) in Mecca contains a black rock that many Muslims believe was given to Adam as he left the Garden of Eden. They believe that it was white prior to his touch but when Adam held the stone, it absorbed all his sin and turned black.

Are you referring to us being made from clay? Ashes to ashes dust to dust? For all we know there was more than one Garden of Eden after all.

This view is not correct, and the evidence for that is that Allaah has described in the Qur’aan the stages of the creation of Adam. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Verily, the likeness of ‘Eesa (Jesus) before Allaah is the likeness of Adam. He created him from dust, then (He) said to him: ‘Be!’ — and he was”

[Aal ‘Imraan 3:59]

This dust was moistened until it became sticky mud or clay that stuck to the hands. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And indeed We created man (Adam) out of an extract of clay (water and earth)”

[al-Mu’minoon 23:12]

“Verily, We created them of a sticky clay”

[al-Saaffaat 37:12]

Then it became dried (sounding) clay of altered mud. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And indeed, We created man from dried (sounding) clay of altered mud”
[al-Hijr 15:26]

Then when it dried it became sounding clay like the clay of pottery. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“He created man (Adam) from sounding clay like the clay of pottery”

[al-Rahmaan 55:14]

Then Allaah moulded it into the form that He wanted and breathed into him (his) soul created by Him. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“(Remember) when your Lord said to the angels: ‘Truly, I am going to create man from clay’.

So when I have fashioned him and breathed into him (his) soul created by Me, then you fall down prostrate to him”

[Saad 38:71-72]

These are the stages through which the creation of Adam passed according to the Qur’aan. As for the stages of creation which the progeny of Adam pass through, Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And indeed We created man (Adam) out of an extract of clay (water and earth).

Thereafter We made him (the offspring of Adam) as a Nutfah (mixed drops of the male and female sexual discharge and lodged it) in a safe lodging (womb of the woman).

Then We made the Nutfah into a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood), then We made the clot into a little lump of flesh, then We made out of that little lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We brought it forth as another creation. So Blessed is Allaah, the Best of creators”
[al-Mu’minoon 23:12-14]

With regard to the wife of Adam – Hawwa’ (Eve) – Allaah tells us that He created her from him, as He says (interpretation of the meaning):

“O mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person (Adam), and from him (Adam) He created his wife [Hawwa (Eve)], and from them both He created many men and women”

[al-Nisa’ 4:1]
