If not, give me the ones you reject and why and where in the bible exactly, verse and all, where it says you no longer have to apply them.

The sabbeth day, honor thy parents, bow down to no other gods. etc.

Do you just pick and chose which ones not to follow? Do you say, "Oh, that was just for the Jews". Why would you follow any of them then? Are you God? Who makes you able to decide which ones to follow and which ones to disregard?

Oh yeah, I wasted 5 points to post this question and yahoo.answers didn't post it for some reason. They make me sick sometimes. If you want you can see the 10 commandments here:

Jesus said when asked that the greatest of the commandments was love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind and strength and to love others as yourself.

In doing these two you will be following all the original 10 commandments. You cannot love someone else as yourself AND steal from them then murder them. All the 10 commandments really come down to the "Golden Rule".

Hello Asker!

You have a very good question and valid point! I'm a Christian, and I follow ALL ten commandments. We humans are filthy rags in God's sight, and we don't have the power to pick and chose what we want to obey - either you're FOR God or AGAINST Him - you cannot be lukewarm or He'll spew you out.

I choose to obey all ten commandments because Jesus IS God, and God never changes! The same God that gave Moses the commandments is the same God that came down to earth to fulfill the Word!

Correct -- The law was for the Jews. In the New Testament, the law was changed to grace and faith.

Galatians 2:16 "Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified."

Galatians 3:11-12 "But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for the just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them."

Romans 3:20-28 "Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in His sight; for by the law is the knowledge of sin...Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law."

Hebrews 7:18-19 "For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof. For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God."

It doesn't mean, however, that Christians are free to sin -- the difference with the law and grace is that with the law, a man could break a commandment and pay a penalty then do it again then pay a penalty that made him 'clean'. In other words, clean outside but dirty inside -- now, by grace, we are to throw off the old nature and put on the new nature, be born again. Start changing from the inside -- not the outside. In the law, you committed adultery if you lay with a married man or woman -- now, if you just look at a woman with lust in your eyes you have committed adultery.

No matter how good you look on the outside, God looks at the inside.

"Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." Matt 22:37-40

That's the 10 commandments in brief, not a replacement of them as too many try to reason. The 1st 4 are our duty to God, the 2nd 6 are our duty to our fellow man.

They reveal to us the character of God and cannot be replaced without denying God.

Yes, I believe all are to be kept.

I believe in all of them. Nope cause Jesus said in the book of Matthew that the decisive thing on whether you enter heaven or not is if you obeyed the Fathers commandements. Check for yourself, go to Matthew 7:21-25.

evidently you're being requested a loaded question. i could favor to talk about that the ten "commandments" (words) are the middle of the former covenant between God and the Israelites. Christians are literally not a celebration to that covenant, and that covenant ended. Christians can't legally be held to the situations of this covenant. Christianity isn't about "preserving" factors of O.C. regulation. Christianity is about "pleasurable" the regulation through faith expressed through love. To "save" regulation is to regulate to it inspite of the condition of the middle. .

The 10 commandments are still true and valid. The problem is that we break one or more of them every day. Whether it is lying or having other gods before God. (money, celebrities, sex, or any other passtime) Since God knew we cannot keep them, he sent Jesus to pay the price for our breaking them. That is why no one can get to heaven just being good. I am glad Jesus will stand with me in the day of judgement. Hope this helps.

Capitalist society wouldn't function if people didn't covet their neighbors' possessions.

Capitalism is alive and flourishing in the US despite the predominance of Christianity, so obviously Christians don't obey all the 10 Commandments.

All of the beliefs in the Torah and Talmud are sacred and useful for moral guidance, but since I am not Christian or Jewish, I appreciate them in their context. Buddhists do not generally look down on Christianity and do not really comment on Judaism, but it is accepted as a legitimate and honourable religion.
