Read the book and visit the site below about curly hair. I did and my once horrible curly hair is now virtually frizz-free ringlets. Now I get compliments on my hair all the time! Straighten your hair- be happy for a day, learn to manage your curly hair- be happy for life! The first thing to do if your hair is damaged by coloring, chemicals, or straigtening is to get a haircut so your hair can grow back out healthily. The main philosophy of the curly-girl method is to not use shampoo. This may sound unhygenic but it has actually made my hair less oily and dandruffy. Conditioner and massaging of the scalp to remove dirt are all that is needed. Shampoos contain some of the same chemicals found in laundry detergent. They dry out curly hair. Massage your scalp with conditioner and rinse. Then spread conditioner on outside layer of hair and the hair at the nape of your neck. Gently comb tangles out with your fingers or a wide toothed comb and rinse. This takes 2 to 4 weeks begin working. It is also important to use gel on wet hair and scrunch the hair. If you decide to do this, and I hope you do, please visit the websites for more information!! You really need to read the book to do this successfully. Be patient and good luck!

Try some curling conditioner like Sunsilk and then after you shower put some Leave in Conditioner in it and don't brush you hair. it should help the curls soften up a bit

Use conditioner. If you are already using conditioner, switch over to a leave-in conditioner since that leaves more moisture in your hair. If you want to have nice-spiral curls when your hair is dry, you can get products to put in your hair to help it. Pantene Pro-V has a curl defining mousse that works very well. ~
