for people who are religious, do you really believe there is a higher power, such as god and/or heaven?

if you answer yes, tell me why. i am atheist and i saw that show on Heaven, where is it and how do we get there? i have been totally facsinated with the idea of heaven and god. i used to go to church, i was christian, but i thought it was all just made up. my mother also stopped going becuz she thought if there is a god, how come he won't save all of those ppl who die every single day. she became buddhist, my dad is still partially christian, i am atheist. what do you think? is there a higher power, is there a heaven, if there is how do we get there?

miracles may happen, but on the news you hear about ppl who die every 10 minutes. miracles? no, devatations. if god can save you, how come he can't save my grandparents, how come he can't save that little boy in the street who just got hit by a car???? these things aren't just accidents, they are things god could help save. sometimes it is their time to go, yea, but that 7 year old who died from lukemeia, she was my friend, the little boy who got hit, he was my brothers best friend. comon, these things god can save.

I believe there is a heaven and a hell, and that we pass from one life to the next in the cycle of samsara. I believe in the Buddhist view of the world. There is no specific deity but Buddha is considered to possess a divine nature. We can all reach a higher consciousness by achieving nirvana. Man has a collective soul, the atman, which we are a reflection of, yet we each possess a spirit of our own.

As for angels, they do not exist in Buddhism, but I believe in guardian spirits and portals. There are spirits of a higher nature who have reached nirvana.

Or take for example the combination of nitrogen and oxygen in the atmosphere we breathe every day. It just happens to be the exact mix that life needs to prosper, it doesn't happen on any other planet that way.

You see, the Bible says the invisible things of God are seen through His creation, to believe this is not hair. If there's a design, there's a designer, if there's a plan, there's a planner and if there's a miracle, there is a God.

The Scripture says the heavens decalre the glory of God and the skies proclaim the work of His hands. If we allow our minds to drink in all the truth that surrounds the truth that just surrounds us, creation itself with help us understand.

Did you know the moon controls the tides, it's the maid that cleans the oceans. Even the waves don't crash the shores in vain. The tides drag impurities from the depths of the sea, it's nature's constrant recycling chain.

It simply boggles the mind to think that the stars will rotate with such exact precision that it's true. That the atomic clock with an error factor of less than three seconds per millenium is set by the way we move.

Though they silently orbit, the sun, the moon, the stars are like celestial evangelists above. Who circle the earth every 24 hours shouting in every languages that there is a God. Atheism is the wedge under the foundation of our faith, trying to topple our relationship with Christ. When the fool said in his heart, there is no God, he rejects the truth God painted on the canvas of the night. Atheism has never created an artistic masterpiece, never healed a fatal disease or calmed a fear. Atheism has never still given answers to our existence, peace to a troubled mind or even dried a tear.

For it's God who created heaven and earth and flung the stars in space and breathed in the handful of dirt and it became a man. It's God who sits on the circle of the earth and measures the mountains in a scale, and holds the seven seas in the palm of His hand. It's God who sent His only begotten Son to the cross of Calvary to save our souls from Hell and the grave. It's God who creates, God who delivers, God who heals and who is worthy of a thunderous ovation of praise.

If there wasn't a God, how do all those miracles happen? There are somethings that medicine and science just cannot prove, and with that there just has to be a higher power.
Lately I hae been thinking the same thing. We read in history about the belief in more than one god, Zes ext. What if 2000 years from now, people are looking back and saying " How could they believe in only one God?" It's wierd. But if someone came to you on the street or ut of the blue and asked you if you believed in God? my first thought would be 'Yes'. So thats what Im going with. God exists, he listens. There is no way that the earth just appeared..

There is a God and there is a Heaven. I can atest to that. We get there by admitting that we are sinful. Everyone is. We Pray to God to save us. We thank Jesus for giving us this chance. God won't save the people who die from dieing because if they really are holy and good and christian, they aren't going anywhere bad. Heaven isn't something visible. It's up there but we can't see it, nor will we ever. You can't get there when you are living. That's what a dude named nimrod did and he ended up causing the earth to be full of people who couldn't speak the same language. You should become a christian again because you've got nothing to lose. People die and that's how they ge to either heaven or hell.

Nobody can do this except GOD Almighty. That is why people cannot escape death even if he/she is the richest and powerful person in the earth.

For your second question, how do we get to heaven?

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no one cometh unto the Father, but by me.

There is only one exit point in earth to reach heaven, it is CHRIST not Buddha.

Yes, God exists. If you're looking for proof, you might be in some difficulty, for there isn't any. My personal belief in God is based on a choice I made. Faith........faith is a belief one maintains in the specific absence of proof. I also choose to believe in the existence of heaven. There is only one way to get there. You must die, preferably having accepted the love of the Lord beforehand.
