I'd say no, you don't want it to get all scabby. Use aloe and lotion on your face, and next time, use sunscreen!

It won't affect the growth of new skin, but I assure you it will greatly increase your pain. I have very fair skin and have had many, many sunburns, and I made this mistake only one time. When you peel off the dead skin before it comes off itself, you're exposing the burned layer of raw skin below it, and at that point a breeze or a smile will hurt! The peeling dead skin is protecting the layer underneath it, to a point. So I definitely don't suggest picking it, because it will cause you much more pain after it's gone.

It would depend on how bad the burn is. I know you want it off, but if it is making a blisters, it would be just like a blister from anything else. Don't pop it because that slows the process of the new skin growing. If it is peeling on its on, go ahead and pick off what is already flaking but I wouldn't peel off the skin that is burnt but not flaking. Sun burn can cause scars and not letting the skin heal will not help! Keep it moist but not greasy. Since it's on your face I don't know how you would feel about aloe on your face, but at least use some type of moisturizer!

Good luck!

dont ever pick your sunburn that can worsen the problem and lead to more complications. If it's really bad see a doctor for treatment, but most of the minor sunburns get better on their own. && too many sunburns can lead to skin cancer so use sun block.

Do not pick at the skin. Let it peel off naturally when you wash your face and keep it well moisturized. Be sure to use sunscreen everytime you go outside as you face is constantly exposed to the sun and at greater risk for developing skin cancer. For now use a moisturizer with sunscreen to help your skin heal and be protected. Once the burn heals use sunscreen with a moisturizer or use it alone if you don't use moisturizer.

The only problem is if you peel past what's dead and make new raw sores. Otherwise, take it off. And please--PLEASE--protect yourself from now on.
