I know that a " chi" is a very6 good high-quality straightener...My friend has one and she straightens her hair in a matter of minutes. However, I have thick wavy hair like you and I use a conair.. I works GREAT it heats up in like two minutes, and is very compact..So its great to throw in a purse or while traveling. It dosen't break the bank but does a great job..I loves it. The Chi costs around 90- 120$ and I cant understand why..I think mine works just as good if not better. Mine was 30$..So if i break it..its not like I spent a fortune on it. Also make sure that u use a heat protection spray..So you don't fry your hair...I use the vo5 miracle mist heat protection spray...it works awesome and smells good:)..I hope that this helps!

A Chi is the best, they heat up in about 20 seconds, and they don't fry your hair, it is really good for it, but you need to get a Chi blowdryer too because blow drying your hair is awful for it and that will fry it too. But Chi's don't they make your hair smooth and shiny. And the blow dryer and straightener have lifetime warranties so if anything ever happens you get a new one for free. I have gone through so many $20 straighteners and they don't have about a 30 day warranty so in the long run you're spending less money. I don't know where you're from or if you have one, but I know here you can go to a Sally's Beauty Supply, or Beauty Brands, or probably any hair salon.

Why not just go for a premanent hair rebonding? It means straighting your hair using chemical. Your hair will look very silky, straight and shiny and a good rebonding can last up to 1 year. I have done it about 5 times although it's not so good for hair as a lot of chemical used.

Its permanent but when new hair grows, it will be like original hair. That means if you have curly hair originally and you do re-bonding, the new hair grows on hair root will be curly. So you have to do rebonding again.

I bought a Vidal Sassoon Ceramic one from Walgreens. It works very good and heats up FAST. It has 20 levels, and works wonders. It was not very expensive, In fact, I got mine for $10.

Hope I helped.

I'd go for a Solia or a Chi. You can get them here;

They're expensive but totally worth the money :) Just make sure you use good heat protectants as well.

okay, well a good straightener is a "CHI", But straightening your hair can damaga your hair and make ur hair look crunchy and dried! Try the "Japanese Straightening System" It start out ast 300$ and goes up....... I got it done and it is straight untill new growth comes out and you see the curl, you can get it wet and its still Board straight! ITS AWESOME I PAID 300$ FOR MINE. ITS MY SECOND ONE I GET ONE DONE EVERY 2 MONTHS SO IT LOOKS FRESH!!!!

I use ceramic flat irons. They heat up in less than a minute and stay hot. And they only cost $23.
