Calcium also needs Magnesium, Phosphorus, and Vitamin D to be in proper balance to be effectively utilized by the body. Excess Fluoride is believed to weaken bones.

You may have osteoporosis, which is a disease characterized by brittle, fragile bones. Osteoporosis is diagnosed through a painless, but expensive, test called a bone density scan. Various medications are prescribed for osteoporosis, along with weight-bearing exercises and calcium supplements. A calcium-rich diet is recommended.

If you think you need more calcium due to arthritis, try a good supplement and be sure to eat calcium-rich foods. Yogurt is one of the best - not the ice-cream type, but the dairy yogurt in all those yummy flavors. Cheeses and cottage cheese are also good sources of calcium.

There are medications for the arthritis pain ( I take Celebrex and Tylenol) and other things you can do to make it better. Some people take supplements like glucosomine (not sure of spelling) and swear by it.

You have indeed consumed a lot of Pepsi, but now that (hopefully!!)you have stopped that addiction, you can concentrate on dealing with your present state of health. Talk to your doctor about everything you can do to help yourself and improve your condition.

One other thing - if you are having trouble walking, your choice of shoes may make a big difference. A good athletic shoe with adequate support may be just what you need. Did you ever consider devices such as orthotics to go inside your shoes? Although your feet may not be the problem, orthotics could help with your balance and weight distribution when you step. It's worth looking into.

When your back hurts and your feet hurt, it affects your whole life. So do what you can to make it better. Best of luck to you, and hope you can find some relief from your pain and discomfort
