First of all, my apology to Danny122... I hit the wrong rating button. His answer is the best. I do airsofting, and like he says, treat your airsoft gun as you would a real firearm and use all safety equipment.
I'm probably a lot older than you and was fortunate to be brought up with guns and hunting. I probably sound like a poster boy for the N.R.A. but the fact of the matter is that you are the future ones to defend our great Constitution, and there may come a time when you may just have to do that. I pray that you don't.
It may sound corny to you, but I've been in real combat and being around guns when I was young made me more comfortable and proficient when using a gun to defend our country.
Yes, I have an airsoft gun (Classic Army M-15 AEG.) and I do participate in a lot of combat games. We win a few and lose a few, but we don't have any wimp politicians running our wars like they did in Vietnam.

I don't know. Maybe it is just the issue of an airsoft gun could blind you if your not careful. Also it might be the issue of you have to be 18 to buy one w/o a parent present. I thought this was the issue w/ bb guns but know it is w/ airsoft. If a kid alsways wears eye protection and are safe they should be fine w/ an airsoft gun.

This is why I am a lifetime member of the NRA. As long as there is an NRA the US will always be a safe for the craziest, most unstable f*ck in your class to expiditiously obtain a toy to practice his columbine "skool project".
Assault rifles and armor piercing bullet can wait until high school.

parents dont want there kids to have airsoft guns becouse if you do any damage then the parent is responsible for the for the repairs i dont see a problem with kids having them as long as they treat them like a real gun and ware all the proper safty equitment when playing with them as a sport. i paintball and we always have srict rules that we all abide by or you arnt going to play with us just for the simple fact that any thing that projects somthing at theat speed can be dangourous

unless you are one of the people who actually play airsoft like people play paintball why would you need one? some kids just want one so they can carry it around and feel cool and in my opinion thats a bad habit to let your kid get into.

If you ever saw kids using play guns to act out armed robberies, you'd understand why parents don't want their kids to have guns...of any kind.
