or so some of the correspondents on R&S seem to think.
has anyone bothered to tell all the biologist, genticists, microbiologists ect. ect. that they are wasting their time because they all seem to be under the impression that it's still a perfectly valid theory shouldn't they be at home or playing golf instead of wasting their time?

LOL, it has only been proven 'scientifically wrong' in the mind of a handful of American creationists who have no international support, no peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals (must be an atheist conspiracy!), and no real theory except for 'god did it'.

Certain aspects to the original theory may be flawed - I think you're taking that fact and making out like the whole idea is wrong, because it's something that upsets you.
Still, minor flaws there may be in the evolutionary theory, but its certainly a more probable and rationalised idea than God.
Oh and if you have a problem with things being 'scientifically wrong', then can you show me documentation that shows the religious explanation to be 'scientifically right'?

**I now understand that you're being sarcastic. Sorry.

No one told me...I'm a biochemist.

I guess I'll have plenty of time to learn how to play golf since evolution is a huge part of the foundation of my research right now. If it's been proven wrong I don't have a job anymore. I can tell you that major discoveries in biomedical research would not even be plausible if this theory were proven false.

I believe God created life. I believe he created evolution to maintain life.

Look at bacteria: they can alter their DNA to become immune to medication. Even the simplest life form is able to adapt to its surroundings.

Giraffes can reach food that no competitors can see. Zebras can confuse predators by just standing in a group. Plants have vivid colors and sweet scents to attract bugs and birds and spread their seeds. All of these traits are examples of evolution.

Listen, you can accept BOTH God and evolution. Why couldn't God, in all of his infinite wisdom, give his life the ability to change and survive. I, for one, don't think Adam and Eve were the son and daughter of Coco and Bongo. We didn't come from monkeys. Nevertheless, evolution is undeniable. It is also necessary. God knew that.

p.s. - Scientific theories can't be proven right or wrong. They are simply the most reasonable ideas used to explain phenomena. Usually, they have enough evidence to be plausible - Einstein's Relativity matches experiments, Atomic Theory explains chemical interactions, etc. Evolution is just a theory, but it sure does a good job of explaining our world.

This lesson comes to you from a high school student and devout Roman Catholic. Dattebayo.

Hmm... Intriguing BUT isn't the fact that DNA & RNA are shared more closely amoung animal important. And THE fact that Fossil records show a slow and steady change in structure over time important (both supporting evolution) This evidence tends to go against the world Just existing w/ all speicies it has to day...

They are still trying to prove evolution, and they probably won't ever give up. Scientists have been experimenting with fruit flies for decades and haven't seen anything except more fruit flies. They have been unable to get DNA to form spontaneously even with carefully controlled lab conditions, but they probably will keep trying.
They have proven that animals can adapt to various environments, and some of them think that's proof of evolution.

I believe that the Earth was created by some sort of asteroid or 2 planets that crashes together and i believe that life was created by a type of plant that grew in to insect that grew into small mammals that grew into mammals that finally became a human being. I also believe that this process took about 2 million years. Hope I helped!!!

A lot of scientists have confirmed this, along with former atheists. Darwin's own words prove that evolution is false and not even theory.
Fossil record does not support evolution nor does microbiology.

You do have a valid point, why would schools teach theory as fact, let alone theories proven wrong?

Here's a link that helps explain all of this.

Please show me where this has been ripped to shreds and how it has been taken out of context? Seriously I'd love to see it.

Open mindedeness and a lot of obejctive research brought me to Islam.

You might want to let the people born with tails, large canine teeth or covered with hair that too. Oh ya and all the doctors that will tell you all the various functions of your body along with complete reasonning as to how it played into evolution.

Evolution has never been proven. It's just their best guess and every day it look less likely to be valid.

People also thought the earth was flat at one time. That didn't prevent them from making maps and predict the weather.

The use of evolution to discover and draw new conclusions about other scientific models have been of little or no use.
