I'm having this same problem hun. ive liked this one girl for a really long time but she doesnt like me back like that and it really hurts to see her with another person, and i dont know if im in love or not.
so i can kinda relate to your situation, and i know what im talking about when i say that if he doesnt like you like that or he just cant see that then you're just too good for him. i mean thats what people tell me all the time. I think im in love because i dont wanna be with anyone else, i think in your situation, you could be in love too. sux doesnt it??? when your in love and you cant do anything about it, and you know it. I hope you solve your problem with this guy.

You sound like a very loyal girl and that maybe why he's still in your heart. You attached to him emotionally and are in a way staying loyal. However it's not healthy. I suggest you go get a magazine, go down to your favorite coffee shop and hang out, meet other potential boyfriends and just take it slow. Get to really know them as friends. Go to the library and join a book club and talk to others in the discussion group about the books you may find some other guys and just enjoy there company. I think it is a crush or puppy love. Are you two seeing each other at all, or are you just admiring him from a distance. In order to know, you will have to some how start a relationship even if it is just a friendship. When you get to REALLY know him, you will know if it was actually love, puppy love, a crush, or just plain lust. If you are a kid in teen or early twenties, you still have plenty of time to date, and have fun. Don't worry yourself over trivial things.

The definition of "Love" (noun) is, a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person. There are no boundaries to age. Three years is a long time for liking someone. However, if you are just thinking about him and not spend actually time with him you may be infatuated with him. If you like him spend time with him and see how the relationship evolves.

Have you ever had a personal relationship with this guy...are you friends? Do you talk and know a lot about who he is as a person or is this a one sided thing? If it is a one sided thing and you really don't know that much about him, I would say crush or puppy love.
You have to really "know" someone at least a little to be "in love" with them.
Sounds more like a crush to me...sorry.

it wasn't an option but how about: obession? Sometimes you can focus on someone that is "unreachable" and use that as a reason for not pursuing other people that are obtainable...what if he approaches you and asks you out? would that "spoil the pursuit?

2. do u dream about him?
3. is it hard for you to let him go?
4. do u look for his name whenever you go online?
5. do u try to get as close to him as possible (pysically)?
if u answer yes to 4 or more of these questions you are in love my friend.

What causes you to continuously think about him? If you are physically attracted to him and that's all, it ain't love! If you treat each other with mutual respect and admiration, AND are physically atrracetd to each other, then it could be love.
