My hair is naturally a dirty blonde with reddish tones, but for the past six to eight months, I've been dyeing it more of a dark auburn color. Now I'm sick of the color, and want to try something that's more blonde. However, I've tried just dyeing it blonde and that did nothing. Any advice?

You should probably start with a color more similar to your own. Don't go too light to fast. It will only bring out the red tones of your hair. Also, stay away from "ash" based tones. They can cause your hair to turn green. I had that happen before. If possible have it professionally done. I learned from a couple of bad experiences that it's best to leave these things to those who know what they are doing.

Don't do it. Because if it fades half of your head will be Auburn color half will be blonde. That just looks horrible. So you would have to keep dying it again. Try highlights. ^_^

to dye your hair from a dark color to a lighter color, you need to bleach your hair.... bleaching your hair isnt good for it, so you dont want to do that 2 often..... try to die your hair close to your natural color so you dont have to keep dying your hair....
