Julie Myers is the Assistant Secretary of Enforcement for DHS. The only reasons she got the job is that her husband was DHS Secretary Chertoff's assistant, her uncle was the airforce chief of staff, and she was the one who was told to find someone to fill the position so she submitted only her own name.

The President nominated her for the job (a legal requirement), but the Senate rejected her for not being qualified. So during recess, the President did a recess nomination.

When the Senate returned, the President renominated her. The Senate again rejected her as being unqualified. The President keeps nominating her.

The people she "supervises" know she is not the person for the job and they almost all want her out of the office.

Many feel that she is there to destroy the agency.

Should she be chased out of office?

The short answer is YES.

The nomination of Julie L. Myers "just doesn't pass the smell test and is another indication that this administration created the Department of Homeland Security as window dressing and does not care whether ICE is successful," said Matthew Issman, national legislative vice president of the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association (FLEOA).

Just another example of the perversion of the Bush administration. Anyone that Bush nominates to head up anything that has to do with immigration should be suspect.

Look at another Bush appointee, Johnny Sutton. Johnny Sutton prosecutes every law enforcement official he can that tries to do their job with regard to illegal aliens. Who was it that LIED in the Ramos and Compean trial? DHS!!!!
Are we seeing a pattern here?

Don't get me wrong, I am not putting this all on Bush because we have a ton of US Senators that are also pushing the pro illegal agenda. Somebody is pulling the strings. Bush and his cronies are just the puppets.

President bush has a history of appointing unqualified people to high office because of their political connections. This sounds like a case similar to that of the FEMA chief during the Katrina disaster.

Peoploe should remember how John Bolton became UN Ambassador. The Senate opposed him, so Bush waited until Congress was in recess.

It wouldn't surprise me if Julie Myers's purpose is to destroy the agency. This is another one of Bush's tactics.

Yes, the woman should be run out of office. While we're at it, we should run Bush and Cheney out of office too.

I stand to be corrected on the fine print of this one, but isn't the idea of a recess appointment to fill a vacancy which OCCURS during a Congressional recess? Consequently, do not see how anyone who has not been confirmed by Congress (and indeed has been rejected) should be appointed during a recess.

Why is Yahoo News featuring homeless illegals, which our tax money supports, as a legitimate story?
Could it be ....... is it possible .... that Yahoo is PRO-ILLEGAL AND PRO-CRIMINAL? IS YAHOO CONTRIBUTING TO OUR COUNTRY'S DEMISE? WHO WOULD LIKE TO REPORT YAHOO TO ICE FOR AIDING, ABETTING AND SUPPORTING THE ILLEGAL COMMUNITY.

I HAVE TRIED TO POST THIS AS A QUESTION, BUT THE ILLEGALS WORKING AT YAHOO DELETE IT.

YAHOO IS PRO-ILLEGAL AND ANTI-AMERICAN. YAHOO HIRES ILLEGALS....MY FRIEND IN CALIFORNIA CONFIRMED THIS FOR ME...SO NOW YOU KNOW THE REST OF THE STORY!

Excuse me, I must make a phone call to ICE....
