I don't see the problem here. If he has a work permit, he is entitled to a SSN. If he has a SSN he can be on a health plan, either through his work or yours. If your HR department is telling you otherwise, get your immigration attorney to write a short letter. That will be much cheaper than paying for health insurance out of pocket.

1. If you were born here you are an American NOT an Egyptian. You may have ancestors that were Egyptian, but that does not make you an Egyptian. Keep your priorities straight!

2. If your husband does not have his green card, but merely a work permit, he is NOT a legal resident. He is a CONDITIONAL resident.

3. Where does he work? Don't they have a healthplan? Where do you work? Don't they have a healthplan?

Why are you calling yourself an "Egyptian" if you were born here? You are an American! It is kind of insulting to America if you don't WANT to claim your country. Are you ashamed to be an American?

As for your husband's medical, I have no idea. Google health plans in your area. Sorry but how would a bunch no-nothings on the Internet know where you can get coverage when we don't know where you even live.

If he is here on a work Visa, doesn't the company he work for provide some type of health care?
