it is your life, and you are a grown woman, you should be able to make your own choices based on you and your child. you family needs to grow up and realize that skin color has nothing to do with personality. color is determined by where a person's ansestors evolved. do they not like people just because they are from a neighboring town? it's the same consept, and sadly millions still fall prey to racism. fight the battle by continuing to see this guy. who knows, you may have found Mr. Right.

Hey,
This is Monique,
I think you should follow your heart and pray to God that your family will end their habits of being racist, because that's a really bad thing to be, and having to be in a relationship with a different nationality, can be a really exciting feeling and life, because you can learn more of what they do and at the same time, have another person to love and take care for!!!

Never give up on something like that. I just got out of an interracial relationship (but we didn't end it because of that). You have to get beyond those feelings. I know how you feel, some of my family and some of his family were like that too. But I'm telling you, I LOVED our relationship. It was amazing and I still love him. You have to do what is best for you. Ignore your family now and hope they come to terms with it in the future. Don't give up!

Who cares about what your family thinks it's you and your son who should make the decision. It's your life and it's up to you who you bring in to your life. If you really like him then go for it. Maybe your family just needs to get to know him more. Or maybe they may never like him, but just rememeber that it's your life no matter what. But ask your son at least once a week if there is anything he doesn't like about the guy and what he does like about him. Because your son has feelings to. Hope everything works out!

ignore your family. They have no say in your life unless you are out of your mind, and harming you or your son. Tell them that you are doing this for YOU, and they have no say. If thay dont support you, than they arent living up the standards of a real family.
My mom never adopted kids because she knew they'd become outcasts on my dad's side of the family since they wouldnt be pure-blooded. (my family is sort of local-royalty)
My mom says a lot she wishes she had adopted kids, but their opinions held her back.
Dont walk out of this door of opportunity. You have someone who makes you happy-- hold onto them.

Talk to your family about this man, tell them that you love him and he loves you back. Tell him that you want him to be part of your life, and you will respect their opinions as well as your's. At the end you have to trust your heart.
