There are some reports that indicate that the plastic containers and the plastic wraps we use when microwaving can leak dioxins into the food that we microwave. This is particularly true of the plastic wrap.
Recommendations are to only microwave in glass containers, or with paper plates and paper towels.
I wish I could remember what documentary I was watching about this, but I'm sure you could find something in a web search. Good luck.
*******This is an update. Check out John Hopkins website regarding this issue.

Yes and yes again.
Microwaves use a frequency that is not NATURAL like LPG or Solar heating.
No one will possibly tell you, but the actual energy of the food gets burnt away.
I am working in Bio field and we have an instrument that measures the Bio field energy in the form of light. Microwaving kills the 'life force' of food. Taste, texture, chemical composition may not change from health standards.... but the life force, which you eventually absorb into your body is burnt away.
No one has ever told you that living in the electric cocoon environment (highly anti nature) is cooking us from inside.
Micro Wave-ing the food may in the long run be a health hazard. Stay safe.
Solar cookers are by far the best energy conserves, maybe enhancers... !

You worry too much. There is no harm in microwaved food. It's lazy and the food is invariably sub-standard in taste and quality, but you're not going to grow two heads by eating microwaved food. Really - do you think it would be allowed on the market for so many years if there were safety issues?
Might I suggest you're just a little TOO cautious.

I remember that in a yoga instructors class I took, we were all cautioned that food cooked in a microwave has lost all of its "natural goodness" or some such nonsense, due to the radiation. That is complete sillyness. Microwaved food is as healthy as food cooked in any other way, and there isn't a shred of evidence to the contrary.

NO. There Is some concern about the microwaves creating i believe it was... "free radicals". these disapate fairly quickly and only the most ignorant of organic vegans complain of it.
Microwaves do not cook with "radiation" radiation .. they cook with microwaves.. like cooking with a radio. Not with hydrogen ions.

to be honest i doubt it will do you any harm, it depends on your imune system. Firstly i reheat chicken in the microwave ( very strictly not advised anywhere) however it has never made me ill. However if you are a clean family maybe your insides have not had as much grime in as mine(firstly admit i never listen to cooking rules, eat things outside sell by date as long as they dont have mould on them) therefor it could make you ill. Then again if you have been doing this for a long time i think your fine if you get ill stop...simple :)

Thier are quite a few risks associated with using microwave ovens, short-term risk would be not cleaning it prior to use, long-term risk would be to the enviroment and your childrens childrens wellbeing.

I never use plastic dishes in a microwave, something about the chemicals in plastics, combined with the effect of microwaves, make me uneasy.

rubbish , heating food causes the molecules to vibrate due to the energy being added to them , from what ever source microwave energy vibrates more directly heating quickly , the reason it does nt brown it vibrates from within , used correctly cleanest from of heating . Unlike convensionally ways which as you know can cause carbon deposites among the food . soot if you like as with smoking can cause cancer
