First "Excedrin PMs" the night before you go too bed, is what my sister-in-law, swears by, to help with her hangover's.. And lots of rest, and forget about water, until your way into the next day, or else it will only make your hangover-worse!!! I found that out the hard way, years ago, when I drank!! And eating good nurishing foods, and some tv, with silence everywhere in your house!! TV, down low, a good movie, maybe, and some good food prepared the night before so you dont have too cook, or anything when your feeling bad, and just pop it in the microwave, (have it already on a plate, and ready to go) the night before!! Then, when your feeling about 1/2 way through your day, a bit better, than drink lots of water, with ice in it, if need be!! Good Luck to you, hun!!! Hope you'll get to feeling better soon.. Oh, a "Ice Cold V-8, with a tad of vodka, wouldn't hurt , either, so long as you dont keep on drinking" otherwise, just have the "V-8" without the vodka in it!! Smile!!!

Now if these suggestions didn't work or if you didn't follow these tips, here's how to handle the morning-after hangover:

water

The symptoms you're feeling post-drinking are signs of dehydration caused by the alcohol. That's why you must rehydrate yourself by drinking a lot of water when you get up.

Rehydrating your body is the key to recovering from the hangover, and this cannot be stressed enough. You can even put some lemon in your water, it'll help soothe your stomach and will add vitamin C.

When drinking water, avoid water that is extremely cold or hot; drink water at room temperature.

coffee

Even though you're extremely tired and a cup of coffee seems like the best way to wake you up, try to stay away from it.

Caffeine will only dehydrate you more, and since it's also a diuretic, it will not help your stomach. Milk and other dairy products are also not a good idea; they may make you feel more queasy.

ginger ale

If you don't want to drink water, try a glass of flat ginger ale, which helps soothe your stomach.

juice

Juice is also a good idea; vitamin C will help give you the energy you'll need.

obey your thirst

Sports drinks such as Gatorade have been known to work for some people.

***good luck***

Personally, I like eating mashed potatoes, drinking sprite or tomato juice, as well as lots of water, taking advil and staying in bed until the afternoon, but thats just what works for me. Lots of people say eating greasy food helps, people also say having a shot of liquor as soon as you wake up helps too, but I have never liked either one of these, they just make me feel sicker. Taking the vitamin B6 is supposed to help too. I think everyone has their own remedy maybe give them all a try.

Take an aspirin when done drinking. The headache comes from swelled vessels in the brain. Aspirin helps blood flow. Give it a try. Also some convenient stores carry little packets of pills that you take one before and one after they help also. Ask the cashier if they have anything for hang overs, they would know if they carry them or not.

Sleep it off.
By the way, did you know that alcohol has nothing to do with hangovers?
It's the impurities in the drink that makes you hungover, such as ethanol, methanol, etc.
The darker the drink, the more impurities.
ie. White wine has less than Red.
Vodka has less than Rum.
