I just got Windows Vista Ultimate and have quick question?

why does windows aero not work occasionally it goes on and off randomly

Simple answer - Vista is full of bugs. I suggest that you head over to the Vista help line at http://www.microsoft.com to get a patch or detailed answers.

Vista is full of bugs. Patch it from www.microsoft.com.
Wait for the SP1.
Also check that your RAM is 1GB and your video card is 128mb with pixel shader 2 support at 32bits per pixel.
