the stitches would not do a thing as they would split right back open again when he gets punched dont forget this is a fight it is ment to hurt each other. if the cut is above the eye and the cut is bad then the refaree stops it as it is dangerous to his eyes but if it is the mouth or the cheek its not too bad the round only lasts a few mins so in between each one they sort them selfs out and cleam themselfs up and if the blood is getting too bad the refaree ends the fight

Boxing is a tough sport, sometimes you get hurt or cut but if you can then you have to carry on regardless. The cut was fairly high on Simpsons head and did not impair his vision. If the blood was running into his eyes then the ref would have stopped the fight, as this was not the case it was allowed to continue. If he had his head stitched it would have been totally pointless as the shots from Matthews would have hit them out. I thought Simpson done well and should have been awarded the bout, but that's boxing.

Boxing seems so barbaric to me. But if people want to punch the living day lights out of each other, who am I to criticise?

Because it creates more energy. More viewers will watch. And he wants to win. Im guessing he lost though.

because if you stop fights to stich cuts it interrupts the course of the fight and creates the chance of an unfair result
