I am a homeschool teacher to my child in kindergarten....today the curriculum consists of learning phonics to read, learning to write (ouc curriculum uses cursive to create neater writing habits and to help connect letters with sounds) We also are learning to do addition and I believe subtractions is coming up before the year ends. My daughter is reading most words now. There is a lot of repitition with colors and shapes, knowing right and left, number and letter recognition ect.

They usually have to write their name. They learn all the letters, numbers, lots of crafting. My daughter goes half day and they do a lot in a short time. She can read already, add numbers.Way more advanced then when we were in school. No abacus and naps here.It is a cute age,get involved at parties its so much fun, then you get to also see what they are doing.

They learn what we learned in 1st and 2nd grade....25years ago. It's amazing how smart all the kids are. My son learned writing and reading and math in kindergarten. Amazing!

The same things, there isn't much learning which goes on in kindergarten, it is mostly playtime and napping.
