4 days ago my tongue started to hurt along the sides and has now come up in ulcer type things along the sides, I eat really healthily and don't smoke so don't think it any sort of deficiency. I am in lots of pain but the doctors has been closed all weekened so was wondering if someone might know what it could be?

You may have thrush, mouth ulcers. Pop around to ur local supermarket or if u can get a chemist open all the better as the pharmacist will give u something better, however buy an antiseptic mouth wash for now or make up saline soloution, salted water and wash ur mouth out well. If it gets worse and ur really worried call ur NHS helpline or contact ur gp and an emergency number may be left on their answer machine. If ur ok to travel u may be asked to travel to an emergency doctors surgery where u will be seen. Good luck, its amasing how things seem to go wrong at weekends.

Just write down what you have been eating and drinking for the last 4 days. If there is something unusual or something that you have not eaten or drunk before the last 4 days but you ate or drank within the last 4 days, stop eating or drinking that thing. If there are deep lines on your tongue, your diet might be unbalanced. See your GP. I hope this is helpful.

You've probably bitten it without realising..I do it all the time.
It's really painful as it develops into an ulcer.Rub 'Bonjela' into it it'll sooth the pain and kill the germs. You'll be OK in a few days.

could be a side effect of a mild allergic reaction. Usually happens to me when something I eat has been in contact with shrimp like spoons, plates etc.
