It is about the size of a starling. I live in Tulsa, Oklahoma and saw it at our bird feeder in mid-March.

Magpies or red Winged blackbird does not quite fit. The blackbird does resemble it the closest, it is just that their was absolutely no red at all.

Could be a Red-winged Blackbird.
Sometimes the red is either not visible or missing altogether and the yellow can be quite pale.
Magpies are not solid black. They have quite a bit of white on their underbelly. Also, they are MUCH larger than a starling.

. if it has a longish tail it sounds like a pied wagtail.
