He has mastered the fork, but I haven't introduced him to a spoon yet. What's a good way to go about it?

Just give him a spoon and something easy to eat, I started my son out with oatmeal, it sticks to the spoon so it was easier for him to get the food to his mouth without it falling off. Another food that works well is rice. He will have the hang of it soon. Good luck!

Give him a spoon and let him figure it out for himself. If he needs to use his fingers, that's fine too.

My 18 month old uses both a spoon and a fork pretty well. He still resorts to using his hands when he's really hungry and the utensils aren't working to well. We never really "fed" him. We've offered him bites, but allowed him to mostly feed himself (which he prefered). I've never tried to "teach" him to use any utensils. Children are extreamely observant. They will watch and imitate those around them (especially if they have older siblings). My son has also been using a regular cup since before his first birthday and he rarely spills! Mostly, I think he watches his older sister.

So, long story short, give him a spoon and let him experiment.

Give it to him! Feed him with a spoon and give him one to "try" it out for himself. Give him a little bit if scoobable food on his tray or in a bowl and scoop some up and feed him. He'll get the picture. My daughter just wanted to play with it at first, then, she realized it had a purpose! Good luck!

Just make sure he sees you eating with a spoon. And I just showed my daughter what to do with a spoon and she caught on.

Give it to him & guide him. He'll probably want to just do it himself! Be patient. He'll figure it out. Try foods that will stay on the spoon without too much balancing, so he is successful without getting frustrated.

Wow, that's backwards. All you have to do is feed him with a spoon and give it to him from time to time. Be sure and use the baby plastic/metal spoons.

Just give him one and let him use it every time he eats. Sure, everything's gonna get messy, but that's the only way for him to learn. By himself and he'll have a great time learning as well!!

Just let him have it. Dont make it too stressful for him. Put some old clothes on him, and wait nearby with a hose.
