Are you supposted to put olive oil in it? I can't remember... So what house hold ingredient do you put in to make hair softer and less greasy?

Olive oil does make your hair much softer over time but you have to use it regularly to get the best results. Unfortunately, it makes your hair greasy and oily too. So to maintain your desired balance of softer hair that's not greasy, get a good shampoo that's not too harsh on your hair... Sometimes, it's a matter of trial-and-error.
P.S.: Another milder oil you could try is Johnson and Johnson's Baby oil.. They are very good. You could use the original or the aloe vera one too.

olive oil?? i would just try and see but i really have no idea! I just use sunsilk for greasy hair shampoo and it really helps but you need to wash it every day! Good luck..

Yes. Olive oil helps a lot, especially if you leave it over night. You can also put one fresh yolk, but you dont have to.

i found that dove shampoo makes your hair immensley soft, you can fix greasiness by washing your hair every day and if you can't, avoid touching your hair so that the oils from your hands don't accumulate on your hair
