I have a 10 year old pug. I have had her for 7 years she was a rescue. She recently had a mass removed. Since she has been barking and crying through the night, always thirsty, and seems like she can't wait till morning to go out. What do you think the problem could be. I am getting very frustrated with her.

Like most here have said Diabetes.....MY 13 year old did the same thing last summer. She's cry at night for me to fill up her water, drank like crazy, and started peeing everywhere. We found out she had diabetes...Its undercontrol now with insulin and diet...Please have her tested because Diabetes is serious. My dog went blind very quickly while we were trying to adjust her insulin...Best of luck and again take her to vet ASAP..

Please call your Vet or take your dog back to the Vet. Your dog has problems. Even humans who are always thirsty might possibly have diabetes. My daughter has a mini Doxie and it, too, pees a lot and she learned it has Cushings disease. Your dog had a mass removed what did the Vet tell you to expect? If she is barking and crying through the night she needs help immediately. Please don't let her suffer for that is what she is doing. Dogs
don't bark or cry in the night for no reason. If you have any
compassion take her to the Vet or call your rescue friends and give her back. She needs immediate help. She can't wait
to go out in the morning because her bladder is full or feels full
to her and she is trying not to mess up your home. Please have as much compassion for your dog as your dog has for you.

I know exactly what you mean I have a cocker spaniel but she is 12 or 13 years old. and is constantly going in the house, whines all night. shes old. and almost blind, can't hear , just can't put her down. yet. take her to the vet and find out if she has anything that you can cure, I just love pugs, I had 2 before they are great dogs, just be patient with her.

My guess would be diabetes but you've got to take her to the vet to be sure. My 11 yr old German shorthair has been on insulin for almost 2 years now and the thirst was the first indicator that something was wrong. She started on insulin immediately but within 3 months she was blind, so don't wait to get your baby to the vet.

Forget anything you have ever been told about Diabetes.

And get this - it has nothing to do with insulin, exercise, diet or anything else you've heard in the past. It's all based on latest breakthrough research that Big Pharma is going Stir Crazy to hide from you.

If you're getting "frustrated" because your pet, which totally relies on you for her well-being and care, is feeling ill and you can't be bothered, then you probably never should have taken her in the first place.

She needs someone now more than ever to care for her...maybe you can find her a good home.

Ask your vet to check her for diabetes( yes, dogs get it ,too !) Two symptoms of high blood sugar are constant thirst and frequent urination. Good luck. Hope this helps.

Don't be frustrated with her, as this is probably a medical issue. Get her a blood test for diabetes and renal function.

she might have diabetes, older dogs sometimes do. Where was the mass? call your vet, its not normal for that to happen. The vet could probably help out a lot

this seems similar to my dog. He was extremely thristy, and then was always really tired. Is your dog every extremely tired also? If she is, then you probably should see a vet. Our dog was diagnosed with addisons disease, and its easily fixed by medication. Im not sure if its what your dog has, but i hope this helped.
