Killing Machine, no.
Excellent fighter, no.
Some people aren't built for it and some people aren't capable mentally.
I've practised Ninjitsu for years, and I'm no "killing machine", but I can hold my own against anyone I've met. On that point, I have a large build and (in my opinion) the correct thought process toward fighting.
You also need to be able to stay calm under fire, which is very rare.

Anyone can become a great fighter. It depends greatly on how hard that person trains. If they don't train hard, then they will never become a great fighter but if you train hard and put your heart and soul into it, then anyone can become a great fighter, with the right training.

Of course. If you want to learn how to score points in the ring, go for a school that teaches Americanized junk under the label, "karate." However, if you want to learn how to defend yourself and those who can't defend themselves, go for a traditional school that emphasizes kata and self defense over sparring. Fancy kicks look good in front of judges, but they'll get you killed on the street.

Yes, you can. But a better question is: why do you want to learn martial arts in the first place? If it is to inflict pain, then why not get your concealed weapons permit and carry a baton to bash people?

Yes, the hunting and survival instincts are still pretty strong in humans. We haven't evolved as much as we like to tell ourselves.

with the right training and support anyone can achieve their potential. we all have different potentials based on genetics, but we can always push those boundaries.
but you will never know your potential unless you give it a go and stick to your short, medium, and long term goals.
