How would I get MS Office from a computer with a CD Drive to one without it?

Question

We have a MS Office CD and we installed it on a desktop. The problem is that I was wondering how to get it on a computer who's CD drive doesn't work.

I also have the two computers networked.

You have several options

->Copy cd to a USB stick or external drive
or
->Take your hard drive and connect it to the other computer
or
->Take your CD drive and temporary use it in place of the dysfunctional drive
or
->Network the two computers.

If you take your hard drive or CD drive you might have to watch the jumper settings on each drive. But either way, one drive will have to be master, usually the primary drive while the other can be slave or cable select. If you network the two computers together, you'll need a cross-over cable if you directly connect them together. Otherwise, you can use a regular straight cable if both computers connect to a switch or router.
It's helpful if both computers have same user accounts and passwords or you know the user account and password of the computer you're connecting to. If the computers are in seperate workgroups or firewalls are enabled Temporary disable the firewalls and make sure that both computers are in the same work groups. Failing to do so can prevent the computers from seeing each other in Network Neighborhood. Most firewalls will prevent file-sharing unless modified and having computers in seperate work groups will make it harder for the names to showup in the Network Neighborhood. Upon success, you'll have to make sure the appropriate folders are shared with the correct access levels.

Changing Firewall settings
Network Connections - > Local Area Connection ->Properties->Advanced

Changing Workgroups
My Computer -> right-click->Properties->Computer Name->Change

Sharing Folders
My Computer -> choose a drive->right-click->Sharing and Security

You can send it to that computer from Internet or Local network or you can connect tow computers by Peer to Peer line.
