Try "Co-Dependent No More" by Melodie Beatty and check out a local Co-Dependents Anonymous group in your area. You can also engage a professional Interventionist to assist you in orchestrating an intervention, but they are usually expensive. Truthfully, if you read about how to structure an intervention, and you can gather together the important people in the addict's life who care about him/her and that recognize the role the substance abuse plays, you can do it yourself.

Well depending on the addiction there are many different places to look. You can call you local social service office and ask for info about the specific addiction help programs that they have to offer. Many insurances (Medica, BCBS, etc) have 800 # for people to call in and ask for counseling regarding any topic. These services are mostly free. A good start anyway. Good luck. I hope you can help your loved one.
