i still cant get my axel, everytime i get close i just stop myself
i've tried going into it fast i've done waltz jupms then loops...i just can't get it and i need some major help!!!!!

hey, well the best advice ever been given to me when i got scared of doing a jump was this: if you tell yourself you are going to do a jump, you do it, or you fall doing it.
it doesn't seem like much but it helped me so much. i think when we find a jump hard we get scared, and then when we chicken out last minute we get even more scared which makes us hate the jump and we become just so scared to give it all we've got that we can't do it. Tell yourself that you are going to do an axel. don't think about it too much just go for it, and DON'T chicken out. i know its hard! but do it or fall doing it. even if you don't land it, attempting it will make you less scared of it.

When your going into it, take your time. And never chicken out right before it because then you will get into really bad habits that you will hate. And you probably don't like falling but always think to yourself, do it or fall, that way you get used to doing it and you get used to getting up in case you ever do fall in competiton. Try it from a stand still first, and practice doing it off ice before you get on. It really helps, don't worry you'll be doing axels in no time!

do a lot off- ice in your sneakers. then do them nice and slow in a straight line. this will stop you from getting a bad habit of swinging the free leg around. Ask your coach if you can try a few on the harness... just to get the timing down.

I am having the same trouble with my single lupe jump (I know I'm not as far as you) ButIt helped me to do it off the ice without skates, and then do it off ice with my skates on. It might help you.

try getting more up on the toepick when you jump or practice it office or do a waltz jump backspin
