This is a family dog that loves children and will even learn to get along with other pets if introduced to them at an early age. Reportedly, the temperament of the Bulldog is unmatchable and would would defend a family member in need. I hope this helped

Here's the Breed Standard for the Bulldog on our website. If you scroll to the bottom of the page theere is a list of Bulldog Breed Clubs. You should contact the clubs as they will be able to give you a lot of useful information about whether the Bulldog is the right breed for you.

I have 4 English Bulldogs and 3 kids all under 7 they are fantastic with my kids. My kids have been taught from young how to treat animals we have had English Bulldogs before our Kids came along so they have been raised with them.

That said you never want to leave any dog alone with any Child Even if its Lassie! any dog can turn.

Our Bullys are very friendly lovable and well manured dogs, they are certainly not good guard dogs, they don't ever bark and would show the robbers to the Cash if anyone broke in.

They are a wonderful breed though not the most elegant breed they sometimes dont know their own strength.
They still like exercise, they need grooming and skin folds wiping daily.
A bulldog is like having your grandfather move in,they snore, they fart, they can be deaf to your commands however drop a biscuit and they hear it and cant half run.

They are very people friendly and love hugs and company.

Have you thought of going to a bulldog show and you can meet this noble breed and chat to breeders.
If you need help feel free to pm me and I will help you as much as possible.

Bulldogs are not mean and they are not vicious. I have 2 and although I have no children, when they are around my 2 little cousins they are very sweet and gentle. This is the standard for their temperament....The disposition should be equable and kind, resolute and courageous (not vicious or aggressive), and demeanor should be pacific and dignified. These attributes should be countenanced by the expression and behavior.
They are also supposed to be one of the best breeds to have if you have kids.

The best guardians and most loyal protectors of their owners' property and children are the bully breeds and the herding dogs: bulldogs, boxers, collies, shepards, etc. Check the AKC website for breed standards and further recommendations but remember that you must train and supervise your dog at least as well as you train and supervise your kids.

Yes they are, despite their mean looks. You have to teach the children to respect the dog as well. Bulldogs can be a bit rough when playing with, so rather choose a female who tends to be smaller than the male. My friend has one called Claude, and he is so adorable you just want to hug him all the time. He is well-behaved but can be rough and ready, so its great if the children are playful but won't hurt the dog. Remember that bulldogs have specific health problems: my friend has to feed him special food because he lacks some kind of enzyme in his liver, quite common with these dogs. But if you're willing to invest some time with the dog he/she will be a worthy family pet.

Bulldogs are not usually a family oriented dog. Depending on breeder or how the dog was raised will greatly affect weither or not it will be good with kids.
