i'm getting lots of compliments on mine, maybe because i keep it very simple.

you need
ground beef (duh)
1/2 onion chopped fine
1 egg
1/2 cup bread crumbs
couple of slices of bacon (optional)
salt/pepper

mix your ground beef, onion, egg, crumbs, salt/pepper until it comes together, this is best done needing with your hands.

line a bread pan with bacon (this gives a nice flavour and keeps the loaf from sticking to the pan)
form your loaf as even in thickness as you can so you don't wind up with cooked/uncooked meat. put it in the pan
have oven at 350 - 375, cover pan with aluminum foil and bake loaf for ~1/2 hr with the foil, take it off and drain fat, bake another 15/20 min (depending on size of loaf, it's done when it's firm to pressing with a fork or so and juice is clear)
hope that helps, bon apetit

2 lbs of ground beef
1 envelope of Lipton's Savory Herb and Garlic Soup recipe
3/4 cup BBQ sauce (I like hickory flavored)
1 1/4 cup Italian bread crumbs
2 eggs
chopped onion
chopped green bell pepper

Mix all the ingredients together in a big bowl. Put in a loaf pan. I have one that has a solid pan on bottom and an inner pan that has holes to drain the grease. Bake for about 1 hour at 350*. My fiance likes either corn or green beans, creamed potatoes and Texas Toast with his. He likes it this way alot better than with ketchup and cracker crumbs.
