Hi, recently I have been having some strange symptoms after eating some foods. The first time was at Christmas when I ate some macademia nuts, a few minutes later I got a tingling/burning sesation in my mouth and throat which went away after about half and hour. 2nd time I had some muesli, which did not contain macademia nuts and had the same feeling. 3rd time was last night, I had a curry from an indian restaurant which contained coconut, but no other nuts as far as I am aware and I had the same symptoms, only worse my tongue seemed to swell up and go numbish, hard to exlain. Also felt really strange and lightheaded, starting to get paranoid now?? Does anyone know if this could be a nut allergy and will it get worse?

I have had similar reaction to certain foods including that strange/lightheaded feeling - I assumed it was a reaction to the food item. You should always carry some Benadryl tablets with you just in case you start to have a reaction so it can help counteract it. Along with all the above great ideas, I would suggest that you: a) avoid anything that causes that reaction, and b) when you try a new food item, start very small and give it 15 minutes or so to see if you feel a reaction. It is better to have a reaction to a small amount of food rather than a whole stomach full!

yes it definately sounds like a nut allergy, i know, my 8 yr old son is anaphalactic, he has them exact symptoms, but even vomits and swells to certain nuts, cashews, walnut and hazelnut, just stay away from them, its best to see an allergy specialist so u can find out which ones are causing the problem, hopefully u wont get any worse, my son was born with them, they usually improve

This deffinitly sounds like an exotic nut allergy.i have the same thing.when ever i eat an exotic nut (walnuts, pecans, macadamien, etc.) the roof of my mouth starts to itch and then my throat swells, and then my whole body itches. BE VERY CAREFULL WHAT YOU EAT !!! I convulsed once in a motel room with a girlfriend, and was very misserable the rest of the night. I know when its coming on when my throat starts to itch. START READING THE INGREDIENTS IN YOUR FOOD.

It specific sounds like it. Please go see a board qualified allergist to verify for specific. you'll be able to desire to be evaluated because of the fact it particularly is often severe. you'll be able to might desire to stay away from peanuts. in case you're relatively allergic to peanuts, the subsequent time you consume peanuts- it particularly is achievable you've gotten anaphylaxis and die. you'll be able to might desire to hold an Epipen to apply in case of an emergency.
