Any system which proposes influence over human lives based on manifeastations of matter are easy to disprove simply because they are based on matter; if you introduce another piece of matter as belonging to the group representing the power center for the system, then the system reveals itself to be false as an influencing power.

Thus saith the Sage.

Indian astrology does not take into account any planet after saturn. Uranus, neptune ,pluto even if you remove all of them nothing will be changed in the astrology calculations. Even if scientists demote any planets that is used in astrology, there is no need to bother. The astrolgy does not depend on the definition of planets. First of all Rahu,Ketu, sun, moon- these are not planets. The only cause of worry is if scientists are able to make the planets revolve faster or slower. Then the whole calculation fails. Does anyone expect scientists to do it?

So it's eight, not ten; Pluto was demoted.

Not knowing much about Indian astrology I'll say it's going to be just fine. None of the celestial bodies have disappeared. They can still be used.

Astrology doesn't depend on the lesser planets anyway, they weren't discovered at the time. Astrology depends more on the location of the inner planets, sun, and moon in respect to constellations. None of that has changed.

So my horoscope for you is that everything will be just fine.

Western horoscopes definitely because it lowers the amount of people it applies to for each one. See, for the chinese horoscopes, the daily message say for the horse, is written for every single person on the earth that was born during that year. Usually there is a group of about 10 recent years for each sign like for example, 1976, 1984, 1992, 2001, 2004... And for everyone of those years, there is 365 days. A person born on December 10, 2001 and someone born on September 1992 and someone born on February 23, 1984 are all going to have the same thing happen everyday? The odds are horrid to support this and unfortunately that is only 3 people out of millions.

Whether there are nine or more planets, the basic planets for Indian Astrology remain the same, namely Sun,Moon,Mars,Mercury,Jupiter,Venus,Saturn,Rahu and Ketu.Hence the Indian astrology will not be affected.

well, not to answer a question with a question, but it seems that planets are pretty numerous out there... and maybe astrology has been quite limited by the lack of knowledge... so, what happens when they decide Pluto is not a planet? or when they discover hundreds more?

Lots of snake oil and hokum out there in the universe or maybe just on this planet..
