I help to rescue stay and feral cats.
Our Vet will spay/neuter at two months of age as long as the kitten is healthy.
I would say get them both done together...that way he may not every decide that he needs to spray and she'll never have to go into heat.
Some Vets, still think that 6 months is the time to do it...but according to our Vet the younger they are done the quicker they recover.
Good luck and thanks for being responsible and having your pets spayed and neutered.

My vet refuses to neuter before at least 6 months old to make sure that the testes have both dropped. A friend had her tom neutered earlier than that. Now she is having to take him back for a second operation because they found that one testes was left behind. He is very aggressive towards everyone and is now attempting to mark everything in the house that belongs to anyone but the his male owner.

I would say about 6 months old would be ok. I would suggest asking your vet though as you would not want a litter of kittens by accident.... you could also ask the vet if it would be better to get them fixed at the same time.... would cost a lot but then the cats would be less likely to rough house and hurt each other......

Hiya, Have a word with your vet, they will advise you when the best time to have them neutered/spayed will be it's normally after 6 months old. Good Luck

As early as possible! Although cats traditionally are altered at six months, many veterinarians now practice early-age spay/neuter surgery, which can be performed on cats as young as six to eight weeks. Doctors practicing this technique report that the surgery is significantly easier and quicker to perform; owners who have had early-age spay/neuter performed on their pets report fewer medical problems than those who have older pets altered
