What is a sexual sin?

Christ tells us not to fornicate in Mark 7:21

The word translated into fornicate is the word porneia {por-ni'-ah} which is our root for the word pornography. At the time of Christ porneia had more to do with Temple Prostitution, a popular past time of pagan religions and considered a fertility rite.

The word Fornication in today's language means illicit sexual intercourse. The word Pornography has a different meaning.

Where the word fornication appears you could insert the word pornography and possibly have a better understanding of the meanings of Jesus words.

However

You cannot understand scripture without the Holy Ghost who understands both the scripture and your heart, how you apply the scripture. If you want to apply scripture in your life or anyone else's life you need to pray, receive the Holy Ghost and accept the direction of the Lord God through the Holy Ghost. Anything less is depending on your own understanding and being faithless towards God.

You choose to put your faith in God or what other people tell you or what you think. Putting your faith in God gets you to heaven. Forming your understanding from the words of people or with your own thoughts you gets you someplace else. There are no good people.

You are a sinner, no better then Charles Manson and no worse then Billy Graham.

This is from Roman's chapter 7. It is Paul talking about sin and the law.

14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. 15 For that which I do, I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.

16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. 17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

19 For the good that I would, I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.

20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

PS: I see by the thumbs down that more people put their faith in their own righteousness and the ideas of people than they do in the Holy Spirit and forgiveness of sins by Jesus Christ. Or maybe some people just hate long posts.

Dont' get caught up in the whamo of Christ versus married couples banging each other day and night sexually and still go to Church every single Sunday and that doesn't make them better than anybody else in this world.

You are what you are and you know what you know...there is no danger in what you do only to yourself and God will not punish you for that.

He gave you a mind so use it to your best. He will meet you half way if you do your part and thats it otherwisem you can practice all the sexual Sins you want no matter how terrible they may be. That choice is yours and you reap what you Sow. God just watches you!!!

IF THEY CHANGE--- they can be forgiven by God, which in turn should be forgiven by other christians.
--Here is a notorious situation(man had relations with his step mother or mother)that was, indeed forgiven by God,

(1 Corinthians 5:1) “5 Actually fornication is reported among YOU, and such fornication as is not even among the nations, that a wife a certain [man] has of [his] father.”

--BUT PAUL had to reprove fellow christians in Corinth to forgive the individual--they were being SEVERLY judgmental to a point of refusing to forgive even after the show of true repentence.

(2 Corinthians 2:5-11) “5 Now if anyone has caused sadness, he has saddened, not me, but all of YOU to an extent—not to be too harsh in what I say. 6 This rebuke given by the majority is sufficient for such a man, 7 so that, on the contrary now, YOU should kindly forgive and comfort [him], that somehow such a man may not be swallowed up by his being overly sad. 8 Therefore I exhort YOU to confirm YOUR love for him. 9 For to this end also I write to ascertain the proof of YOU, whether YOU are obedient in all things. 10 Anything YOU kindly forgive anyone, I do too. In fact, as for me, whatever I have kindly forgiven, if I have kindly forgiven anything, it has been for YOUR sakes in Christ’s sight; 11 that we may not be overreached by Satan, for we are not ignorant of his designs.”

--SO THEN, if the Corinth christians were to carry on their self-righteousness to a degree EVEN THOUGH God forgave the individual, the sadness of this sincere fully repentent person would serve Satan's purpose, thus his sadness could lead to returning to evil acts or even suicide!

No, God and his only son love you. If you ask him to forgive you he will, The only thing they want from you. Is your love and compassion for others.

Some people will tell you other wise, but they are wrong. God placed us on this world to enjoy all the wonders and gifts that he gave to us.

Love, God and he will love you back, no matter what!.

It makes you backslidden and the Holy Spirit pricks your heart till you repent. If you make you father mad then run away. There is a separation there. But he is still your father. All that is needed is repentance and forgiveness to restore the relationship.

A sin is a sin, sexual or otherwise. If one truly repents, they can still be saved. But, if one continues to sin, he has not truly repented.

Belief is NOT enough to become a Christian. Baptism is an essential part of the process. To become a real Christian, we are told that we must HEAR the WORD in John 6:45, Jesus said, “It is written in the prophets, And they shall all be taught by God. Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.” We are also told so in Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. We are told the we must BELIEVE in Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. We are also told so in Mark 16:16, Jesus said “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.” and in John 5:24 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. We are told that we must REPENT (or turn from sin) in Luke 13:3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. Also in Acts 17:30 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent. We are told to CONFESS CHRIST in Romans 10:9-10 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. We are also told in 1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. We are to be BAPTIZED according to Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” and Mark 16:16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. We are to CONTINUE to be FAITHFUL UNTIL DEATH according to Revelation 2:10c Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. We also know that Paul wrote in Romans 14:12 each of us shall give account of himself to God. It is important that we not ignore what is written, change what is written, or add to what is written in the New Testament which is our Christian Guide.

A Christian can be lost. Two were according to Paul. He said that others would be also. We must guard ourselves from satan. If a Christian has publicly sinned then they need the prayers of the congregation. If they have sinned but NOT in a public way then they may pray for their own forgivness. I hope that this makes sense. Have a great day!
