The Lord has a day (Revelation 1:10). That day is the Sabbath day (Mark 2:28). The Sabbath day is the seventh day (Gen. 2:1-3; Exod. 20:8-11). The seventh day Sabbath "according to the commandment," observed by Jesus' disciples after His death, was the day after the "preparation" day on which Jesus was crucified (Luke 23:54-56). We know that the preparation day was Friday because Jesus "rose again the third day" (1 Cor. 15:4, KJV; compare Luke 24:7), and he rose on "the first day of the week," Sunday (Luke 24:1). The word "preparation" used in Luke 23:54 is a translation of the word that in modern Greek means the sixth day, or Friday. Arndt and Gingrich's Greek lexicon says that the word for "preparation" means "Friday, on which day everything

day everything had to be prepared for the Sabbath, when no work was permitted. . . ."14.The next day after crucifixion Friday, Jesus' followers "rested the sabbath day according to the commandment" (Luke 23:56, KJV). Following that Jesus rose early on the first day of the week (Luke 24:1-3). Mark records: "Now after he rose early on the first day of the week. . . ." (Mark 16:9).So the Sabbath day is the day after Friday and the day before Sunday. It was in Jesus' day and has been ever since. No calendar changes have ever changed the weekly cycle. Since Jesus' day, there has been one change in the calendar, from the Julian to the Gregorian calendar. The change was first made in Spain, Portugal, and Italy in 1582 in response to an edict of Pope Gregory XIII. Thus, our present-day calendar is known as the Gregorian calendar. In 1582, ten days were dropped out of the month of October. Thursday, the fourth of October, was followed immediately by Friday, the fifteenth.

Although a number of days were removed from the month, the weekly cycle was left unchanged. Thursday was followed by Friday and Friday by Saturday, as had always been and has been ever since.

1st look at your calender. the seventh day is Saturday. If you believe in the ten commandments, then believe the lord knew what he was doing and which day he expected you to worship him. No where in the bible do you find God or Jesus, indicating a mistake has been made, we meant, the Sabbath to be Sunday. By the way Sunday is the day in which early civilizations set aside to worship the sun gods, not our Lord.

Some religious organizations (Seventh-Day Adventists, Seventh-Day Baptists, and certain others) claim that Christians must not worship on Sunday but on Saturday, the Jewish Sabbath. They claim that, at some unnamed time after the apostolic age, the Church "changed" the day of worship from Saturday to Sunday.
However, passages of Scripture such as Acts 20:7, 1 Corinthians 16:2, Colossians 2:16-17, and Revelation 1:10 indicate that, even during New Testament times, the Sabbath is no longer binding and that Christians are to worship on the Lord’s day, Sunday, instead.
The early Church Fathers compared the observance of the Sabbath to the observance of the rite of circumcision, and from that they demonstrated that if the apostles abolished circumcision (Gal. 5:1-6), so also the observance of the Sabbath must have been abolished. The following quotations show that the first Christians understood this principle and gathered for worship on Sunday.
The Didache
"But every Lord’s day . . . gather yourselves together and break bread, and give thanksgiving after having confessed your transgressions, that your sacrifice may be pure. But let no one that is at variance with his fellow come together with you, until they be reconciled, that your sacrifice may not be profaned" (Didache 14 [A.D. 70]).
The Letter of Barnabas
"We keep the eighth day [Sunday] with joyfulness, the day also on which Jesus rose again from the dead" (Letter of Barnabas 15:6–8 [A.D. 74]).
Peace and every blessing!

The Sabbath is saturday and always has been. Churches believe that they should worship on Sunday, being the lords day, the day which they believe Christ rose. This has three problems. The first is that one of the 10 commandments states "remember the Sabbath and keep it holy" For some reason they throw this commandment away why not the others, it should be okay to commit murder also by their thinking. The next problem is that it was Roman emperor Constantine that declared Sunday the official day of worship. The Romans worshiped on Sunday due to it being the day of the great sun god, King Helios most commonly called Sol Invictus. It was punishable by death to be caught worshipping on the Sabbath so many Christians decided to follow Constantines ways, the true Christians still worshipped in secret.
The third problem is that Christ did not raise on Sunday. Christ was crucified in the year 30 AD , not 33AD. If you lokk at that calander you will see that based on the Passover you can figure out the day of death and ressurection. Now keep in mind that the Jewish days go from sunset to sunset. Christ had the passover feast ONE DAY EARLY. People always forget that fact. Christ knew he wasn't going to be around for the Passover feast so they met the night before and the Bible tells us they came to get Him after they ate. This puts Christ on the cross on the day of Passover, not after, which according to the calander for 30AD was on a Wednesday. Dying on the passover makes perfect sense since the event was the death of the first born and know Gods only son dies on that same date, also the main meat on Passover is lamb and it was lambs blood put on the door mantles. It was the lamb of God that died for us. The Bible also tells us to remember the feast showing a type of future prophecy. Churches today all put Christs death after the passover inncorrectly. Now with Christ dying on Wed. this makes a Saturday ressurection which is probably why the Hebrews were told to remember the Sabbath and keep it holy, again they were being told about a future event. Now even when reading the Bible, when did Mary, Mary, and Salome reach the tombs with the spices and oils ? A: Just before dawn on Sunday morning at the end of the Sabbath. Matt. 28:1, Mark 16:2, Luke 24:1, John 20:1. This just tells us that He was already risen by Sunday morning for the tomb was empty, it does not tell us when He was risen or for how long. We do know that the tomb was empty while it was still dark. So much for the idea of sunrise services. Being the time they arrived highly increases the possibility of a Sabbath ressurection which lines up exactly with the dates of the calander from 30AD.
So in essence all those that worship on Sunday are following ungodly man made traditions that were designed to honor a false god 'Sol Invictus' and I am sure that totally disgusts the one true God 'YHWH'.

According the the early church historian Eusebius (ca. 235AD), the reasoning is the Last Supper happened on a Thursday, the body was taken down before the Sabbath at the sundown Friday, and because 40 is a "magic" number in the Bible, 40 hours later is when the Resurrection would have occured -- a Sunday.

Not that it matters, but any educated Christian will tell you that the Sabbath is on Saturday. They should also be telling you that its a Jewish law/custom and through the changing of the Priesthood, comes a changing of the law. If you believe in Jesus genuinely, then you do not recognize religious rules or laws written by man, but instead you follow the Spirit. Quick test of whether you follow the Spirit is if you're hung up on "what if" questions about this.

The Sabbath day is Saturday of course and this is the only day God sanctified and blessed. Sabbath is not solely for the Jews but for everyone who believes(follows) in Christ. If we follow Christ`s example we will continue to keep Sabbath as he did along with the gentiles in the New Testament. Many people confuse this day with Sunday but if they read they bibles they will find no justification for this. Eventhough they honor his resurrection and may be sincere they are sincerely wrong. If you really want to know who made Sunday holy check out this website. http://www.truechurchofgod.info/id34.htm

The Sabbath is from 6pm Friday til 6pm Saturday. Christians celebrate on Sunday because Christ rose on the first day of the week.

I guess it's just custom. You can't know which is the seventh day unless you know which is the first. Where do you start counting?
My understanding is that before Christianity the sabbath was considered Saturday. Christians changed sabbath to Sunday because that's the day Jesus resurrected.

Sure, so the Sabbath is Saturday. What's your point? Christians are not under Jewish Law so the Sabbath is irrelevant.
