What you wear is entirely up to you. I see that postmen here in the south west wear shorts throughout the winter even though they may be wearing coats, hats and gloves. What does that say I wonder? Also some women wear skirts all year round so what is the difference?
As for myself I thought I might go down the nudist beach today as there will be several 'diehards' there but I do not think it is quite warm enough for me so I am wearing nothing at home and why not?

I say not early at all. Right now I am in flannel robe and pyjamas, but when I go out, moving about shorts do fine for me. I was taking a walk yesterday before sunrise, however, and though my legs didn't get cold, I had on a light shirt, my back never became warm.
But to me, it is entirely personal choice.
I will have a sweat shirt on for predawn activities for some time to come, however.

Never too early to wear shorts-I have a middle- aged Brother who wears shorts all year round.In fact he only owns 2 pairs of long trousers!! I wear those 3/4 length things all year.Get a bit of air to your legs!!

It's 19 °C here and I'm still wearing my winter coat!! If you think that 12°C is warm enough for you to wear shorts that's fine by me!

Nope, it's all what you want to do. My little bro is wearing shorts now. I never wear shorts because I hate my legs. lol But I'm going to try to at least wear one pair this year, or my mom will have a fit.

It's up to you, as long as your shorts cover your privates it shouldn't be an etiquette question. I'm all for good manners but such rules as this seem silly to me. If you're comfortable enough, wear shorts.
