ok folks I bought the jvc 56 inch and a sony hts system with a upconvet dvd player. I have it hooked up with hdmi cables and I can't get the dvd to play on the tv. I get audio going threw the receiver for the dvd player but no tv picture. now the dvd player has an hdmi that I hooked up to the receiver and digital opt that I also hooked up the receiver. Help

This is a common problem with HDMI...And I find that most up-convert DVD players don't do a good as the up-converter already BUILT-IN to your HDTV...Salespeople won't tell you that so they can sell you a new DVD player with a $100 cable...And finally, click here to see why HDMI isn't always the best connection: http://www.whydoesmyhometheatersuck.com/hdmi.html

sounds like you forgot to make a video connection between your receiver and the tv, video-signal is only going from dvd to receiver and not further
