I'd pull over, obviously.

First ask her how long she can hold it. If you know the road and there's a rest stop a little of the way ahead, then have her hold it. If you are not sure, pull over and try to have her go in the bushes or behind the car or something so that passing cars wont stare.

I would have her try to hold it until I can safely pull over. If she can't, Oh well accidents happen. Going on the side of the road isn't recommended, especially for girls regardless of age. I would rather deal with a messy car than some of the other possibilities.

Well, if you ask me, I'll immediately pull over. My child has to pee. If we're in the city, then we can look for public comfort rooms and have her pee there. But if in case there aren't any public comfort rooms near or available, then yes. She has to pee by the side of the road. But of course, I'll cover her or have her pee somewhere covered up. I don't know. Maybe next time, I'll bring a portable contianer with a lid so she can do her necessaries without me having to pull over and then throw it when we reach our destination.

It depends on the location of us and her age. If she is little say before 6, I will let her pull over if there is not any washroom nearby and the public area must not be many ppl. Also, I will cover her from ppl looking at her.
If she is 6 or above, I think I need to ask her to hold and go to the washroom as soon as possible. If she can't hold and pee on her pants, I will let her know she need to go to the washroom before having a long traffic. As an adult, we also need to go to the washroom before we get on the car and spend several hours on the vehicles.
Therefore, we need to educate her to avoid that situation.

Side of the road. Many years of watching kids getting potty trained and just after plus my two now. I have in the back of my car a storage box that contains a potty chair, gallon of water, wipes, a blanket (to provide privacy) and a change of clothes for just in case. At young ages they can't hold it long and generally don't tell you they have to go till they really have to go. Also when they get older their might not always be a restroom nearby.

there are a lot of people who think letting your child pee by the side of the road is just wrong, but i admit i've done it. it's either let him pee by the side of the road, or let him pee his pants and be embarrassed when people look at him.
parents do it all the time!

Depends on the childs age. If she is under six, I would pull over; over six, say wait a little bit then find the closest store or place with a washroom.

I have pulled over many times to let my son pee. There is nothing wrong in that, when you got to go you gotta go.
