Most definitely, March of 2006 I underwent a valve replacement to my heart which was directly related to gum disease. Don't mess around with bleeding gums - you may find yourself with much, much bigger problems. good luck -k-

yes. the inflamation speeds up aging on the arteries. also in severe cases the bacteria that are irritating your gums can get into your blood stream and cause an infection of your blood, which obviously is really bad
