Drinking water will cause more pain. The more fluid in, the more fluid out. As you drink more water, there is more fluid pushing against the stone. But don't take this to mean you should stop drinking water. It is easy to get dehydrated when drinking water makes you hurt, but keep at it.

You should see the doctor as the stone may be too big to pass. Also ask him for a prescription of Urimar-T. It is not a pain med, it's a med that prevents spasms of the urinary tract (one of the biggest causes of pain). It will turn your pee green in time for St Patrick's Day!

Also you may try drinking lemonade instead of, or in addition to, water. It won't eat the stone, nut the acid will eat the sharp edges of the stone making it much less painful to pass.

Good Luck!

This is a question you should ask your doctor. When I had kidney stones, it helped me to drink water in order to flush it out. However it was painful.
