Most likely, your dog suffers from what we normally call, culture shock (or more like it) being in a new place and new proud owners. Try to make your dog feel comfortable and more welcome and if the loose stool still persists after a day or two, you're most likely off to the vet to have your dog checked for possible food poisoning.

It is probably change of food.
I don't know what you are feeding him or what he was being fed before, but he MUST be on puppy food.
My dog is a huge beast and it is easy to forget that she is still a puppy (she is 8 months old) when I put her next to my beagle who was fully grown.
I was tempted to feed them both the same food, and I did, and she got very very sick.
She got better when I put her back onto puppy food.
We all think dogs are invincible - after all they eat out of trash cans, right? But they are not.
I think the change of environment and possibly food is probably what has affected him. Try good quality puppy food for a few days, if he doesn't perk up or gets worse, see your vet.

Good Luck to you both x

mabe he is eatting too much people food, canned food or cheep dog food. As its been said a sudden change of diet can cause it as well as stress.
Its not a cause of concern unless it is watery and it lasts for more then a few days and or the dog is allways "going".

your dog might have an allergy to food; or maybe he ate something he shouldn't like chocolates - they're poisonous to dogs esp puppies; why not take it to the vet?

Could be stress related, could be form diet change, could be parasites, could be dietary indiscretion (eating something he shouldn't have), could be underlying medical problem (like IBD).

You really need to see your vet.
