Ok..so im 15+, and this nice guy in school who likes me (but i just treat him as a friend) bought me an Escada perfume and lotion I know easily cost near a hundred. I liked it pretty lot but the problem is I have absolutely no occassion to use it and they've been hiding in my closet forever because I could never tell my mum or she'll kill me if she knows i accept gifts from some guy. If not i would have given her.. Now, now..before it really goes out of season, should i sell it to earn some extra bucks?

But im in a dilemma cos wouldn't that be immoral?

Why must you save it for a special occasion? I say... if you like it then where it any day, any time!

I guess you should just use it. It is your possesion now, you own it and you can use it. Selling it off is smart business-wise, but like you said, it'll be immoral to him. People feel happier if you appreciate their gifts.

If you mom did find out that a guy bought you this gift, you can just honestly tell her that you are not interested in him, he's just you admirer.

I wish i have an admirer that gives me presents.

My cousin used to receives a lot of gives from her close boy pals too during high school and they still remain friends.

OR in another way, it can also be immoral for you to use up such an expensive gift from him where else you don't feel anything to him at all. For his point of view, its like "i bought you this gift to prove my sincerity and you treat it as some kinda free stuff for your own purpose.

So i think one solution is, to tell him honestly that you would prefer him to be just a friend and say that you're not qualify enough to accept sucha gift, keep it for somebody else.

The rest depends on him whether to let you keep the perfume or claim it back.

I'm not a relationship expect but that sounds fair for both of you i guess.

I think your biggest mistake occurred when you first accepted the gift from him. If you KNEW beforehand that you're not supposed to accept gifts from boys, then you had the responsibility to inform him of that rule. Seeing as you didn't, now you've got an even bigger problem.

The smartest thing to do would be to return it to him and tell him the truth. It's a GIFT; not a "for sale" item. It was given to you with thought and consideration, and to sell it would be the ultimate selfish deed you could possibly perform. If you feel the money is more worthwhile, you owe the money to HIM. After all, he bought you a GIFT; he didn't give you a wad of cash.

If you feel like you should keep it so that you don't have to return it to him, then you need to let your mom know because you'll always have that guilt that you disobeyed an expectation from your parents.

In one way or the other, you WILL lose...but that's just life. You deal with what you're given and you recognize that there ARE good things as well as bad things. Hope this helped.

I don't see a reason why your mom forbids you to accept gifts from a guy who likes you. Now that's really strange to me.... I seriously don't think you should sell this expensive gifts...just keep them...who knows you may need them later in life? Perfumes and lotion do not and will not go out of season.. perhaps you may want to let this guy knows that you can't accept such expensive gifts from him coz' you are only seeing him as a friend...or you may want to return it to him...
Accepting expensive gifts from a guy usually tells him that you are interested in him as well...so make things clear with him the earliest the better

you can use a perfume for any occasion. I think you should just use it. If your mom asks about it just tell her that your friend got it for you or something. and if you dont like lying to your mom then dont use it. but i think you should atleast keep it because he took the time to buy it for you. I mean one day you might have a use for it and youll be sorry you got rid of it. And you can keep it till your older and then maybe the perfume will be more appropriate. I would just keep it.
