Should i wait after the first heat, or does it matter in terms of their bone and muscle development?

BEFORE the first heat cycle is what is best for your dog. Spaying a female dog before her first heat will almost completely eliminate her chances for later developing mammary cancer. After her 1st heat the benefit decreases, after the 2ne heat the chance is much larger, and after the 4th or 5th heat there is no longer protection.

Dogs should be spade before their first heat - right around the age she is now. 6 months actually.

It's a myth to wait for the first heat - the percentage of cancer and other diseases rise with every heat cycle.

Advantages
Additionally to being a birth control method, neutering has health benefits. Hormone-associated diseases such as benign prostatic hypertrophy are prevented. Female cats and dogs are seven times more likely to develop mammary tumors if they are not spayed before their first heat cycle. [1] Unspayed dogs have a 25% chance of developing mammary tumors, about 50% of which are malignant. [citation needed] A dangerous common uterine infection known as pyometra is also prevented. Uterine, ovarian, and testicular cancer are also prevented for obvious reasons, although these types of cancer are uncommon to begin with.

The procedures may also help to address behavioral issues that might otherwise result in animals being given up to shelters, abandoned, or euthanised.

I have 3 dogs and they have all been spayed. The vet told me that before the first heat is the best time to do it. If it is a female then you have the risk of cancer if you wait til they had the first heat.

With a breed such as yours (Giant) I've been told to wait until they are at least 1 year old. They need that amount of time to develope their bones structure and muscle tone.
Hope this helps!

replaced into your canines in warmth? Did the two canines tie? Your canines does no longer could have domestic canines at any time in her existence. She is your puppy & no longer a brood B itch. She pick no longer could pass by that at any element in her existence. Get her spayed. you could take her to the vet & get her looked at & spayed on a similar time. Spaying her will keep away from particularly some problems lady canines have as they strengthen older. you need to additionally be saving her existence by skill of spaying her. If she is a top high quality canines (extra effective than AKC registered) (fee you some hundreds of dollars) & you have a mentor to help with the selective breeding & whelping, it particularly is a various tale. Your maximum suitable guess is to pass to the Vet. seek for advice from with him/her. heavily, evaluate spaying. each canines I even have ever owned replaced into spayed/neutered on the age of four months.

She is old enough now. The sooner the better, but not while she is in heat.
