I've a Border Collie pup and once he's a bit older I'd love to do flyball or agility but I'm in my 50s and not that fit though I do walk a lot so I just wondered if I had any chance. It looks such fun but if its a team or competative I don't suppose I'd be much good.

You actually don't need to be as fit as you do for Agility. The toughest thing I find in training for Flyball is teaching the spin/swimmer's turn on the box (had to beg my trainer for mercy before I got too dizzy, spinning with my dog!) Flyball is so much fun and you'll get a lot of support from your teammates. Have fun!

You can't have that kind of attitude when you really want something...You need to go after it. Don't use your age and out of shape stop you from this... if this is what you really want to do. You said when your puppy get a bit older..Well take this time and get yourself into shape. You may not win, but sitting on your butt thinking of ways not to , you may never know. Always try what you want to do..If you fail at least you can say you tried. But you know what ? If you do this you will win even if you lost..
You have time , work on this goal of yours , make it happen.

You're right, Fly ball is great fun. You don't have to be super fit to participate. It helps if your dog is a bit nuts though. Give it a go you don't have to run with your dog for the fly ball. What do you have to lose. Go for it.
