Feeling sad about your birthday is really common. I feel sad too, mostly for me its about getting older :-), but really, it's an expectation thing. Birthdays are supposed to be great right? It's supposed to be YOUR special day, just for you, and yet, you don't feel special.....A great deal of that is in expectation.

Take some time and reflect on all the positive things in your life. You have made it through another year. You're healthy. Look at all the wonderful blessings you have. Make a list! Let yourself be excited about being alive! About being you! Look at all your accomplishments, no matter how small. Allow yourself to celebrate YOU!!

It's great when other people recognise our birthdays, it makes us feel special, and when they don't we feel less special, so sometimes we have to take care of the specialness ourselves. It's YOUR birthday CELEBRATE it yourself and ask people to join you! Say, "Hey it's my birthday! Let's celebrate!" Invite joy into your day! Treat yourself to something you like. Buy yourself and Ice cream or a cake.

Likewise, make it fun for your friends...when they wish you Happy Birthday, tell them thank you and then take the opportunity to let them know how much you appreciate them as your friends. Make them feel good about your birthday too!

So, Happy Birthday!! I'm glad you're here for me to answer a question for. May the coming year be blessed and joyous!!!

The first step to feeling better is to concentrate less on how you feel let down by other people and focus more on the things that make you a good person. Sometimes you can feel down and more sensitive because another birthday means another year gone by. I suggest not looking for more but being grateful for the friends who have acknowledged your birthday and then plan to do something special for yourself (or with a special friend you might want to include) just to celebrate your good health and existance. Hope you have a fabulous birthday; don't let the negative bring you down!

I think everyone will feel better if you devote a little more time to improving your grammar and a little less time to worrying about your lack of birthday wishes.

More wrinkles and another year of meaningless existence has passed. *Sigh* At least there's the solace of death to look forward to...
