He was made perfect for the purpose he was intended. We all have the qualities of God, if we don't go against our very own nature, as science is finding out. We can think, feel what he feels to a degree and have all his qualities. We're born with a model of reality in our brain that we only have to fill in with information. The more you know the more you see. You can't take the ten catagories in the library and start rejecting the ones you want and still be consider educated or make sense of life adequately. The history of Adam is so real to life and has such a symbolic and real meaning, because it's also the truth, history. Reality is it's own model of reality and the best test of it. A scientist doesn't make assumptions, but stays unbiased to look at the facts and then test them, presumptuousness is what we laymen do. We don't use logic, it's a hard science to learn and use properly, who takes the time? Only a few scientists and not many of them.

He was made in God's image by being sin free (for a time)... Adam was the archetype of mankind, until he destroyed himself.

It all depends on the perspective viewed/believed/accepted. I saw it as allah talking to the angels saying that "WE shall make man in our image". Angels had no part in creating, but allah still takes them as friends. So as they sat with allah, HE spoke. And when GOD said "Let US make man in our image", HE meant that he shall create mankind to what HE alone wants him/us to be. So through the vision of allah, he made mankind to what HE imaged us to be then brought into existance. PEACE!
