Well, there is such a wide range of answers for this question. Is the blood mixed in with the stool? Is it bright red? Are you having pain? Are you having constipation or hard stools? You need to see a gastro for the answer. There is no way that anyone can answer this with any knowledge only knowing that blood is present. Blood should never be in the stool, so knowing that, go to the doctor.

Go now and get this checked. It is very important that you do. It could be caused by :
1. Constipation, sometimes this can causes tiny cracks in the passage way known as fissures and blood can be passed.
2. Haemorrhoid's that bleed when a motion is passed.
3. Colitis, where the lining of the large intestine has ulcerated and they bleed when a motion is passed.
4. More rarely, it can be caused by bowel cancer.
But any bleeding of this kind should always be investigated.
Hope that helps

you may have a haemorroid or some sort of ulcer in the lining. if this persists like everyday pherhaps you SHOULD go to the docter they will giv you some antibiotics or some sort of medicine to help it along and also give you cream to help soothe. maybe the reason why your getting this is because your constipatetd? i dont know... but are you drinking enough fluids during the day this is what could cause you this problem coz your strecthing the skin and squeezing really hard causing blood vessels to pop and cause haermorroids.. hopefully this is helpful babe!!! x

I guess it's all been said. If it's bright red blood, then it's near the rectum...if it's black bloody stool then it's higher up in your GI tract. Either way a doctor should be consulted.

hemmoroids come to mind.. especially if its bright red. Also a tear in the rectal lining. You might talk to the doctor. but neither is life threatening.
