How do I save the Windows XP Automatic Updates to a disk in case my pc ever needs reformatted again? Thanks!

I just had my PC reformatted after having it for only 2 weeks, brand new, b/c it had 3 Trojans on it. Then the updates took 2 days to download, at a rate of 1% per hour (dial-up). Also, if this, God forbid, happens again, I'm not sure my XP key will be good and so then I wouldnt get the automatic updates. I hope that made sense.

why would you do that ? the updates at windows are changing all the time , and you would be out of date , if your product is legal a simple visit to the update site will allow you to update ,

Sorry. I cannot tell you,
as I could be reported for violations/abuse

If you have genuine XP CD no problem in updating from their site any time, even if you reformat and reboot your XP.
After rebooting Connect to Internet
Start/All programs/Accessories/System Tools/Activate Windows.
I did this recently , without any problem.

no need to save your current updates.
if you "ever" reformat; microsoft will automatically install the updates.
