i used to use avg; later i found that it is difficult to configure. try aol's active shield at http://www.activevirusshield.com/antivirus/freeav/get_started.adp . it is good, easy to use and free.

my favorite is trend micro pc-cillin 2006. as 2007 has many features that are useless. it is not free, but it is one that is effective enough in security. i don't like norton as it is too strong and also difficult to use.

avg will attempt to do this for you , or it will quarantine them , if avg is unable to do both , look at the symantic website to see if they have a fix for it , if not then your going to have to fight it manually
