First of all as has already been stated atheism is not a religion though loosely spoken it is a belief system of sorts.
As far as I know the only country to declare itself officially atheist was Albania, at least it was the first, among other things they had a large banner at their main airport so anybody visiting would see the declaration that 'There Is No God'. From 1967 - 1990 all religious buildings of any kind were closed.
*NESH*
Sorry to burst your bubble but I have been to Albania on about 12 or more occasions and found it to be the most backward, strife ridden, corrupt country that I have ever seen.

First of all, atheism is not a religion, atheism is the opinion that some people have that there is no God. And therefore, there isn't a main country where they are, it's just a label for people who think/feel/experience that there is no God.

No country has atheism as their main belief system(atheism is not a religion just a belief in there is no god). atheism is something new and it will never become the majority.because GOD IS REAL!

ATHEISM IS A RELIGION!!!! It is a set of beliefs that an individual has that have been imprinted upon them by others. Having said that, China and Korea are good examples of nations that claim atheism as their official religion. But it aint working. Churches in those nations are growing as no where else due to the fact that people are hearing 'The Word'

None. Atheism is not a faith. It is a lack of faith.
Some counties have acted to ban organized religions because they know that organized religion always tries to take over the government. Just look at the problems the USA is having with the Baptists in control of their government.

They say that communist countries are atheistic. I don't know if Atheism could be classified as a religion though.

Most all of Europe. But, more correctly, 'atheism' is not a (the) religion-its secular humanism, fueled by evolution.

well, you know there are no atheist churches, right? So like others pointed out, lack of religion does not equal a religion.
Most of western-northern Europe is highly secular, if that is what you mean.
In general, look to the countries with high welfare and good educational systems.
